Laura Gordon focuses her practice on patent prosecution, portfolio management and counseling for clients in the life science, biotechnology and pharmaceutical spaces. She applies her extensive experience in a laboratory and familiarity with technology transfer at large universities to help clients develop, secure and protect their intellectual property, both in the U.S. and internationally. Her areas of concentration include providing support for acquisitions and research collaborations and protecting clinical-stage, commercially significant pharmaceuticals.
Laura has in-depth knowledge in a wide range of technologies, including molecular biology, microbiology, immunology and biochemistry. In particular, her understanding of genetics and gene editing technologies allows her to advise clients on how to strategically develop and protect commercially valuable biologic assets. She also gained significant experience with the resolution of pre- and post-trial motions in patent and Abbreviated New Drug Application (ANDA) litigation during her clerkship in the District of Delaware. This background informs her current practice and perspective on both prosecution and litigation.
