<li>Obtained a dismissal of a federal court wage and hour class and collective lawsuit against an inspection services company in the energy services industry.</li>
<li>Provided strategic advice and counsel to employers and human resources departments on the employer-employee relationship, including, but not limited to, the hiring of employees, employee complaints, employee discipline, employee terminations and reductions in force, for compliance with federal, state and city employment laws, thereby avoiding discrimination, harassment and retaliation claims – among others.</li>
<li>Successfully compelled a wage and hour, discrimination and retaliation case to arbitration and out of an unfavorable jurisdiction.</li>
<li>Represented clients before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Texas Workforce Commission and drafted position statements for employers responding to Charges of Discrimination filed with these administrative agencies.</li>
<li>Represented employers and their leadership in courtrooms and before arbitration tribunals in matters involving claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, unpaid wages, breaches of noncompete and non-solicitation covenants, various employment-related torts and violations of state and federal employment statutes.</li>
<li>Provided strategic advice and counsel to employers and human resources departments relating to federal and state wage and hour issues, including the calculation of pay, overtime, off-the-clock work, misclassification of employees and independent contractors.</li>
<li>Provided strategic advice and counsel to employers and human resources departments on city and state sick leave laws.</li>
<li>Audited positions held by employees of a renowned museum to identify and resolve potential misclassification issues.</li>
<li>Prepared employment-related documents and agreements protecting employer-clients’ interests, including separation/severance, tuition reimbursement and settlement agreements.</li>
<li>Obtained favorable settlements in wage and hour class and collective actions for clients in the energy services industry, including in independent contractor classification and overtime pay disputes.</li>
<li>Obtained a favorable settlement for a hospital client in a dispute with a former employee who alleged tortious interference with prospective employment and retaliation under a provision of the Texas Health and Safety Code protecting healthcare whistleblowers.</li>
<li>Obtained a favorable settlement for a global food distributor in a dispute with a former employee who alleged FMLA discrimination and retaliation, disability discrimination and a failure to hire on the basis of an alleged disability.</li>
<li>Successfully defended against a wage and hour collective action plaintiff’s effort to compel production of a wide range of documents from third-party staffing companies that had not staffed plaintiff to work on the client’s projects.</li>
<li>Represented an industrial and energy services company in trade secret litigation.</li>
<li>Prepared damage models in complex wage and hour class and collective action lawsuits to advise clients on their potential liability in such disputes.</li>
<li>Conducted webinars for employers on employment-related issues, including on how to avoid misclassifying employees and independent contractors.</li>
<li>Investigated allegations of workplace discrimination, harassment and retaliation.</li>
<li>Represented clients as the lead associate attorney at private and administrative agency mediations.</li>
<li>Drafted a pre-mediation evaluation of discrimination claims brought by the former vice president of a global food distributor challenging its DEI initiatives.</li>
<li>Crafted and executed strategies to address complex discovery issues, including those in the class and collection action context with numerous plaintiffs and in trade secret litigation with over 280,000 produced documents.</li>
