HEADLINES



<ul>
<li>Congress <a href="https://rollcall.com/2022/06/12/bipartisan-senate-group-strikes-gun-deal-focused-on-school-safety-mental-health/">reportedly</a> is on the verge of moving forward on significant bipartisan gun control legislation amid the current wave of violence across the United States.</li>



<li>The House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol will continue its series of public <a href="https://january6th.house.gov/legislation/hearings">hearings</a>.</li>



<li>President Joe Biden will travel to Philadelphia to speak at the 29th AFL-CIO Constitutional Convention.</li>
</ul>



HOUSE



<ul>
<li>The House is in session tonight through Thursday. The <a href="https://www.majorityleader.gov/content/weekly-leader-friday-june-10-2022">agenda</a> includes final approval of Senate-passed <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/senate-bill/3580">legislation</a> to overhaul ocean shipping rules.</li>



<li>The House Appropriations Committee will <a href="https://appropriations.house.gov/news/press-releases/appropriations-committee-announces-fiscal-year-2023-markup-schedule">begin</a> marking up fiscal year 2023 spending legislation.</li>



<li>The Education and Labor Committee will hold a <a href="https://edlabor.house.gov/hearings/06/07/2022/examining-the-policies-and-priorities-of-the-us-department-of-labor">hearing</a> tomorrow with Secretary Marty Walsh on the priorities of the Labor Department.</li>

SENATE



<ul>
<li>The Senate will continue <a href="https://www.senate.gov/floor/index.htm">consideration</a> of compromise <a href="https://www.congress.gov/bill/117th-congress/house-bill/3967">legislation</a> to extend benefits to veterans exposed to toxic substances during combat.</li>



<li>After a delay, the Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions Committee will <a href="https://www.help.senate.gov/hearings/s-4348-s-958-s-4353-hr-1193-and-s-4053">take up</a> its <a href="https://www.help.senate.gov/chair/newsroom/press/senators-murray-burr-introduce-bill-to-support-fda-programs-to-lower-costs-and-spur-innovation-">version</a> of legislation to reauthorize FDA user-fee programs.</li>



<li>The Veterans’ Affairs Committee will hold a <a href="https://www.veterans.senate.gov/2022/6/review-of-the-fiscal-year-2023-budget-and-2024-advance-appropriations-requests-for-the-department-of-veterans-affairs">hearing</a> with Secretary Denis McDonough.</li>

WHITE HOUSE



<ul>
<li>Biden will keynote the AFL-CIO <a href="https://aflcio.org/aflciotv">convention</a> in Philadelphia tomorrow.</li>



<li>Wednesday, Biden will <a href="https://www.politico.com/newsletters/playbook/2022/06/13/trumps-election-lies-take-center-stage-on-capitol-hill-00039097">host</a> a Pride Month reception at the White House.</li>



<li>Friday, Biden will host the Major Economies Forum on Energy and Climate.</li>
