Amid the brewing national debate among parents, educators and lawmakers over the effect of social media use and children, the Senate in July overwhelmingly approved legislation aimed at protecting kids online. But whether the House will debate and vote on the package is unclear, leaving the issue potentially in legislative limbo until 2025 when a new Congress is sworn in.
