This latest salvo in an ongoing conflict over crypto’s potential status as a security has “poured cold water” over the optimism that many in the crypto industry experienced in the wake of another recent judgment, according to the article. (A judge in that case ruled that Ripple’s sale of its XRP token does not constitute an investment contract.)
As Goody Guillén put it to DL News, “Just as this court explicitly rejected the approach of the XRP ruling, another court could explicitly reject this decision just as easily,” she said.
