SAN FRANCISCO — APRIL 24, 2024 — BakerHostetler announces that the firm recently signed a five-year lease renewal in San Francisco’s most recognizable building, the Transamerica Pyramid. The firm will continue to lease the entire 31st floor at 600 Montgomery Street, a space it has occupied since the office opened in March 2020.

We have continued to grow over the past four years in San Francisco, and this lease renewal, which includes options for expansion, will give us room for that to continue.”

Since launching in 2020, BakerHostetler’s San Francisco office has more than quadrupled in size, in line with the firm’s goal to strategically grow its West Coast presence. Under Adkins’ leadership, BakerHostetler has grown to nearly 20 attorneys and staff in the San Francisco office, including <a href="https://www.bakerlaw.com/professionals/jeffrey-d-diener/">Jeff Diener</a>, who co-leads the firm’s Hospitality Industry team; <a href="https://www.bakerlaw.com/professionals/melody-drummond-hansen/">Melody Drummond Hansen</a>, co-leader of the firm’s Automotive Industry team. Last week, the office also recently added <a href="https://www.bakerlaw.com/professionals/isabelle-corbett-sterling/">Isabelle Corbett Sterling</a>, who brings a regulatory and compliance practice with deep experience in fintech. Attorneys in the San Francisco office offer full-service capabilities, including white collar investigations and defense, intellectual property, technology transactions, real estate finance and transactions, corporate compliance, regulatory compliance and defense, and complex litigation involving mass torts and fire claims.

SHVO, the ultra-luxury real estate firm that serves as the custodian of the Transamerica Pyramid Center, is investing $1 billion towards the reimagination of the iconic tower and the surrounding neighborhood. The redevelopment, which is being led by renowned architect Lord Norman Foster, will usher a new era of hospitality-driven office space, providing tenants and their guests access to unparalleled amenities. In addition, the Transamerica Redwood Park is being restored to its original glory and will serve as a hub for new and unique retail experiences, with the area expected to become a popular destination for members of the local community and those from further afield.

Under this new lease, BakerHostetler occupies one of the upper floors of the 48-story high-rise. The lease also provides the firm with the option to expand into adjoining space, which would enable it to double its current size as it continues to achieve its growth objectives.&nbsp;

BakerHostetler’s latest move is part of its West Coast strategy, which most recently includes the relocation of its <a href="https://www.bakerlaw.com/insights/bakerhostetler-relocates-los-angeles-office-to-premier-century-city-space/">Los Angeles office</a> in March 2024. Since 2019, the firm has added more than 120 attorneys on the West Coast.
