Having spent several years as a seconded attorney to a Fortune 15 healthcare company, Trischa has been deeply involved in developing and executing litigation&nbsp;strategies from both the in-house and the outside-counsel perspectives. Her judgment, technical discovery skills&nbsp;and client-oriented approach ensure that responses to discovery inquiries advance and coordinate with the overall strategies to address the immediate crisis, correct issues that lead to the crisis&nbsp;and further the client’s long-term objectives.

<li>Develops strategy and oversees execution of discovery for a healthcare company involved in massive litigation, including thousands of lawsuits in nearly every U.S. state, a federal MDL, a multistate attorneys general investigation and numerous other federal and state inquiries. Also participates as part of core leadership team developing strategy for pre-trial proceedings, settlement discussions, media relations, investor relations and shareholder matters, regulatory and compliance matters, risk management and insurance matters, and business operational matters.</li>
<li>Prepared CEO to testify before the Energy and Commerce Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives and attended hearing as legal counsel.</li>
<li>As a seconded attorney, oversaw litigation and discovery strategy for a multidistrict medical device product liability matter and participated in client’s business management, risk management, securities/investor relations and media relations/reputation management strategy development and execution.</li>
<li>Defended an insurance company against claims of failure to engage in good faith and fair dealing with insureds in a putative nationwide class action. Performed early case assessment and exposure analysis; and drafted pleadings, discovery requests and responses, remand opposition briefing and multiple rounds of dispositive motions. Conducted discovery collection, review and production, and monitored legislative and regulatory developments related to issues in litigation. Precertification dismissal of claims was secured.</li>
<li>Participated in settlement negotiations on behalf of several insurance company clients in class actions alleging that the companies improperly charged and collected local taxes on insureds’ premiums. Drafted settlement agreements and guided cases through settlement approval and the administration process, which included drafting settlement approval motions and class notices, attending settlement approval hearings, collaborating with outside settlement administrators, and ensuring compliance with federal Class Action Fairness Act requirements.</li>
<li>Defended a medical specialty hospital and cancer center for pets in a multimillion-dollar action alleging breach of fiduciary duty, breach of contract, fraud and other claims. Involved in conducting fact analysis and witness interviews, drafting briefs for dispositive and discovery motions, working with client contacts and third-party vendors to preserve and collect discovery, developing strategy for document review and production, and coordinating and managing third-party vendors and internal and external document review attorneys. Helped develop a strategy for dealing with complex attorney-client privilege issues implicated by the issuance of a subpoena to one of the client’s corporate attorneys during the course of litigation. Claims were dismissed following successful negotiation of favorable settlement terms during the parties’ first mediation attempt.</li>
<li>Tried a case to jury verdict involving claims that a large automobile manufacturer violated Ohio’s Lemon Law and consumer protection statutes and breached its warranty to purchaser. In preparation for trial, conducted and defended fact and expert witness depositions.</li>
<li>Seconded in the litigation department of a major healthcare services company.</li>
<li>Represented a regional health system in a False Claims Act qui tam action. Successfully eliminated nearly all of the relators’ claims on a pre-answer motion. Secured extremely favorable settlement terms after conducting strategic fact and expert discovery.</li>
