Mark has the depth of knowledge and ability to evaluate portfolios, provide freedom to operate counseling&nbsp;and acquire intellectual property rights in order to sustain long-term IP advantage and security. He helps clients fully understand the intellectual property landscape in which they are operating. Mark builds portfolios for clients in an effective risk-management fashion, providing an armor that can fight against or prevent future litigation.

Mark’s focus on biotechnology and pharmaceutical includes working on the chemistry and accessory side of cannabis with both business-to-business and business-to-consumer clients.

Mark is recognized as one of the Top 25 Intellectual Property Portfolio Managers in California by the <em>San Francisco Daily Journal</em> and <em>Los Angeles Daily Journal</em> (2010). He has been honored globally as one of the IAM Patent 1000 – The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners since 2015. Mark was formerly the Orange County office's Intellectual Property Leader.

<li>Mark serves as a patent strategist and counselor for a worldwide portfolio of fuel cell, hydrogen generation and distribution technology.</li>
<li>Mark has been in patent diligence related to transactions in the computer software, medical device and energy industries.</li>
<li>A medical device developer approached Mark with a de minims patent portfolio, which resulted in Mark counseling his client through the development of an aggressive portfolio that was defensive as well as offensive. Mark continues to serve as patent strategist and counselor for the client&#8217;s now worldwide medical device patent portfolio.</li>
